Kaimux Moderators

Moderators are an important part of the Kaimux administration. Their main task is to help players and ensure that the community remains friendly and well-organized. This is a voluntary role that requires responsibility, patience, and a genuine willingness to contribute to the project.

Moderator’s Work

The moderator’s activities are primarily focused on assisting players:

  1. answering questions in-game or on the Discord platform,
  2. helping new players find their way around,
  3. explaining server mechanics, rules, and how systems work,
  4. ensuring that rule-breakers are punished,
  5. maintaining a friendly and fair community.

Moderators are not required to be PvP experts or constantly monitor fights for possible cheating – such cases are usually handled by more experienced members of the administration.

Work Ethics

Moderators must:

  1. communicate politely and respectfully,
  2. avoid pointless arguments,
  3. follow all project rules,
  4. remain objective – friends or acquaintances are no exception,
  5. not ignore players’ requests for help (unless the communication is disrespectful or offensive),
  6. provide help only within their abilities and competence.

Moderator Hierarchy

Moderators in our project are divided into several ranks – from Helper to Manager. Each level grants more responsibilities and permissions.

  1. Helper – the entry-level rank, considered a trial period. Tasks: assist players on servers, issue punishments for rule violations with Overseer confirmation.
  2. Support – in addition to Helper duties, can assist players through the appropriate level of Discord tickets.
  3. ChatMod – can mute players as punishment and handle a wider range of Discord tickets.
  4. Overseer – can confirm punishments issued by lower-level moderators and also issue punishments independently.
  5. Manager – the highest level of moderators. They can restore griefed areas on servers, register new players, and use other extended tools.

How to Become a Moderator?

To become a Kaimux Moderator, candidates must go through the application process. Recruitment is ongoing, unless temporarily suspended due to system updates. Any player who wishes to contribute to the project may apply.

Application steps:

  1. Application form – the candidate fills in the form, answering the required questions.
  2. Test – 45 questions, mostly about Kaimux specifics. Both knowledge and logical thinking are required. The test is considered passed if at least 41 answers (90%) are correct.
  3. Background check – the candidate’s punishment history, behavior towards players and administrators, and overall activity in the project are evaluated.
  4. Administrators' discussion – the team discusses the candidate’s behavior, reputation, and overall suitability for the team.
  5. Final decision – a decision is made whether to accept or reject the application. If rejected, the candidate receives a comment with feedback and instructions on when to try again.

Progression and Responsibility

Moderators may be promoted or demoted depending on their activity, work quality, and behavior within the project.

Activity is measured using objective data, such as:

  1. responsiveness to Discord tickets,
  2. number of replies to /helpop requests in servers,
  3. communication with players,
  4. time spent on servers,
  5. other performance metrics.

A moderator may be promoted to a higher rank if they consistently demonstrate responsibility, politeness, and the ability to assist players in various situations.

Likewise, a moderator may be demoted or removed if they:

  1. break project rules,
  2. abuse their position,
  3. fail to perform their duties,
  4. lose connection with the community.

👉 Being a moderator is not a privilege, but a responsibility. It is an opportunity to contribute to the project, help others, and grow together with the community.
